A 14-goal-to-seven second quarter helped Balranald move into the top five, recording a nine-goal win over Tyntynder at Greenham Park.
After a slow start, where the Bulldogs led by three goals at quarter time, the home side quickly clicked into gear with a dominant second term on their way to 48-39 victory.
It was a result that pleased Balranald co-coach Elli-Jane Pollard, who praised her team’s ability to create turnovers in the win.
“It was a great win, Tyntynder are always a strong, competitive side,” Pollard said.
“Our girls played out a strong consistent four quarters, with high pressure through the midcourt from our attacking end allowing us to get the turnovers we needed.”
Tyntynder coach Kelsey Rowe was also pleased with her team’s performance, while still acknowledging her Bulldogs are a work in progress.
“It was a very competitive game of netball and we worked on our efforts from last week and it showed by us not letting them run away with a lead,” Rowe said.
“It’s just a matter of tidying up a few errors and building our connections for a team with a new look this year, and bring those margins closer again.”
Defender Bridgette King and wing defence-centre Jackie Rivett were the best players for Tyntynder, while goalies Jess Parry and Ella Mirtschin were the better players for Balranald.
