THE darts grand final this season was a repeat of last year’s, with the RSL Have A Goes taking on the Woorinen Blazers.
The Have A Goes put the Blazers on the back foot early, winning three of the four doubles matches.
Despite being adamant that he was throwing poorly, ‘Bones’ Field made short work of Rohan Ward in the first singles, with the Have A Goes taking a 4-1 lead.
Johnson Field went head-to-head with the Blazers’ Holden Ward in what was, as always, a close contest.
As usual it was decided in three, with Holden coming through with the win to keep his team alive.
The Have A Goes’ Tosh Gleeson then took on Marc Williams and took the first singles before Marc shifted through the gears and won the next two legs to win 2-1, including a 180 in the third leg.
With a four to three lead, it was up to Col Toohey to take on Sophie Williams in the last of the singles.
Col played some fairly handy darts and won the match 2-0 to clinch the win for the Have A Goes.
Congratulations go to both the winners and runners-up, as well as all the players who contributed to a fantastic darts season.
The upcoming winter competition details are yet to be worked out so anyone interested in starting their darts journey, or rekindling it, can join the Facebook page Swan Hill Dart Association (Official) to express their interest or ring Rohan Ward on 0418 593 953.
