Haystack fire

EMERGENCY services responded to a haystack fire on Pental Island on Sunday.

The CFA and police were called to a property on Pental Island Road about 1.30pm to find the blaze causing a large amount of smoke, impacting the road and obscuring visibility.

The fire was deemed non-suspicious.

 


Golf clubs stolen

GOLF clubs were stolen from a vehicle parked in Swan Hill, police say.

Offenders smashed a window of a ute parked in Pritchard Street some time between 2pm on March 23 and 9am the following day.


Pen taken

A PEN and safety glasses were stolen from a vehicle parked in a Swan Hill street.

Offenders gained entry to the vehicle on Gummow Street some time between 8.30pm on March 23 and 6.30am the following day.


Molotov cocktail

SWAN Hill detectives are investigating after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a Swan Hill home on the weekend.

The incident at the Domaille Crescent address happened about 6.40am on March 24.

Minor damage was caused to the property.


Drugs, weapon seized

DRUGS and knuckle dusters were found on a man riding a scooter in Swan Hill.

Police located a quantity of cannabis and the weapon when he was searched on Makepeace Street about 7.15am on March 24.

The 27-year-old male was charged and bailed to attend court at a later date.


Toilets damaged

PUBLIC toilets at a Swan Hill park were vandalised at the weekend.

Offenders smashed the toilet bowl and cistern in the disabled toilets at Riverside Park, some time between 8pm on March 23 and 7.30am the following day.

The disabled toilet in McCallum Street was also damaged some time between 2.30pm on March 20 and 7am the following day.


Court date

A MAN was remanded in custody after drugs were found in his possession at a Swan Hill motel.

Police went to the Campbell Street motel about 4pm on March 22 to investigating a family violence matter.

A search warrant was executed on the room and a quantity of cannabis and methylamphetamine was located. The 18-year-old male was charged with trafficking cannabis and associated offences.

He was remanded in custody.
