SATURDAY pennant got underway last week and we played host to a very strong Racecourse 3 side in Division 2.

All rinks battled hard all day, but unfortunately we went down on all rinks.

This week we play Murray Downs 2 at home – let’s hope for a much improved effort.

Our Division 4 team had to forfeit to Racecourse 7, but this week they will be keen to start playing and will play at Murray Downs.

Midweek Pennant played at home against Swan Hill 2 and a good day of bowling was had by all players.

The games were a tussle and after the lunch break, both games became close and could have gone either way, which eventually resulted in a draw.

Next Tuesday we visit Murray Downs – good bowling everyone.

Good luck to our men and ladies who are playing in the State Pairs on Sunday.

NYAH DISTRICT

OUR first division started the season in great fashion, with a full twelve player effort needed to get over Racecourse.

Bryan Smith, who was in ominous form, led his four to a convincing win.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t maintain the momentum and went down in Sunday’s Final of our Club Singles.

Simon Wynne came from behind to pip Bryan in what many say was the best game of bowls at Nyah West in many years.

Fourth division put up a good show, going down to Racecourse, with youngster Noah Everett and birthday elder Les Bailey both performing well.
