RACECOURSE

Good luck to Kylie Gardner and Mikaela Evans, who will play as part of the Murray Mallee team in the Regional Sides Championships at Moama, they play their first match today.

Winners of jackpot bowls on Wednesday afternoon were Ernie Russell, Carol Smith, and Max Parsons (Lake Boga) on two wins and +23 shots, runners-up on one win and +1 shots were Neil Roberts, Les Barnes (Lake Boga) and Peter Hooper.

The jackpot did not go off.

Men’s Club 100 Up final was played on Wednesday between Norm Smith and Glenn McIntosh, Smith eventually won a thriller 106 to 96.

Smith earlier in the day had a desperately close call, beating Shane Domaille 103 to 101.

There are still two club events to be finalized, Men’s Pairs is between the team of Bryan Bice and Kevin Vivian, and the team of John Ford and Ernie Russell.

The final of the mixed pairs sees Bryan Bice and Elizabeth Renney play Shane Domaille and Kylie Bailey.

Today will feature the club’s President’s Day Mixed Fours, followed by our presentation night.

Sharon is cooking tea, but only those who registered their names will be fed.

The club’s 50th anniversary celebrations will be on Saturday April 23, if you have not indicated your intention to come please do so ASAP to help with catering.

Early notice of our Anzac Day tournament, not many tournaments are held on Monday, but this one, courtesy of the RSL club, marks Anzac day April 25, 1pm start.

SWAN HILL

A good roll up at social bowls on Wednesday was keenly played as Fred Burge and R. Hose (Warrnambool) were the victors.

Friday Frolic continues to be enjoyed by many, entries need to be in by 2:30pm for a 3pm start, we play 10 ends of 2 bowl triples and everyone enjoys drinks, snacks and socialising afterwards.

Easter isn’t far away and single or team entries can be made to Bill King on 0428 324 083 or 5032 4083, they can also be made on the noticeboard at the Club.

Any Combination Pairs on Good Friday, A/C 2 Bowl Triples on Saturday and A/C 3 Bowl Triples on Monday.

All tournaments start at 12.30pm and include afternoon tea, excellent greens and great company, and all proceeds from the spinning wheel on Friday will be given to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

May Carnival entries are steadily coming in and Bill King will be happy to take your entries.

Members please note Presentation Evening will be held Friday April 29 following Friday Frolic and not April 22 as previously announced, so please have your Club Events finished in time.

LAKE BOGA

Visitors from White Hills were amongst the winners on Wednesdays social bowls, winners were Geoff Baldwin, Janet Hamill and Helen Jobling, runners-up were Ian Ross, Mal Zadow, Les Grey, and Rod Dewhurst.

There was a good roll up for the Jackpot on Saturday, winners were Max Renny, Ron Atkinson and Helen Jobling, runners-up were Alec Jobling, Janet Hamill, and Ted Hyland, jackpot tomorrow will be $201.

Please remember our two-day Classic will be on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 April, help will be needed to prepare the greens and surrounds and on the two days of the tournament.

Our annual meeting is on Wednesday 27 April at 7pm please come along and support the club.

We have our presentation night on Saturday 7 May at 6pm and there will be music on the night.
