Bowls carnival rolls around again

SWAN Hill Bowls Club has received strong entries for their 56th Annual Autumn Carnival, which starts tomorrow and runs for 11 days of competition.

“There are visitors from far and wide including Warrnambool, Melbourne and along the Murray,” Club president Brian Richardson said.

“It is an iconic event that has been going for years, we are very happy to be able to provide the best greens in Country Victoria to our visitors to enjoy the bowls tournament.”

The carnival opening on Saturday morning will feature Swan Hill councillor Les McPhee rolling the first bowl with the Men’s and Ladies Fours Competition to follow.

There are more than 100 bowlers currently entered for Saturday’s competition and all three rinks will be full.

There will be a two-course meal available after Saturday’s play costing $20 per person with names needed to be submitted for catering purposes.

Entries can be submitted to carnival secretary Bill King on 5032 4083 or 0428 324 083.
