RACECOURSE

The winners of the Auto Barn Triples, with three wins and 77 points, were Arthur Threadgold, Danny Mitchell and Phil Parry, while the runners-up were Glenn McIntosh and Ken and Vicki O’Bree (Murray Downs) on 66 points on a count back with two-and-a-half wins. In third place, on two-and-a-half wins and 62 points were Peter Brooks, Matt O’Bree (Murray Downs) and Mal O’Bree (Nyah).

On Wednesday, our jackpot bowls were won by the evergreen Arthur Threadgold and Bob McIntosh with two wins and plus 28 shots. Runners-up with one win and plus 26 shots, were Norm Smith, John Ford and Max Parsons, while the jackpot went off with Norm Smith, John Ford and Max Parsons having the lucky number.

There will be no members’ draw or raffles on tonight.

Our next tournament will be on Sunday, August 21, with the Ash Roberts Homes Mixed Triples.

LAKE BOGA

Saturday, August 6 was cancelled due to rain, with lots of players having a roll up practice and enjoying their bowls until the rain came.

Wednesday, August 10 social bowls was played with 18 players playing two bowls triples, two games of 10 ends. Winners were Danny Kelly, Keith Anderson and Shirley Swan, while runners-up were ‘Bones’ Smith, Robyn Jolly and Leigh Kingsbury.

Jackpot bowls will be played on Saturday, August 13, with the jackpot worth $288. All are welcome with names to be in by 12.30pm, for a 1pm start.
