CONGRATULATIONS to our club champion, Brian Mansbridge, on making it through to the final of the Champion of Champions last weekend.

Brian was edged out by a few shots by his Murray Downs opponent, Buck Lehmann. Diane Millsteed came up a few shots short to be defeated by the eventual winner of the Ladies’ championships, Mary Hooper. A fine effort by both our champions.

Midweek pennant resumed on Tuesday after the Christmas break. Teams started half an hour earlier to beat the heat. Division 1 was in good form defeating Racecourse 1 on both rinks. Division 2 returned from Tooleybuc smiling, having an overall win, with one rink up and one down.

Saturday pennant is due to recommence tomorrow, which could depend on the weather forecast and the heat rule. All will be anxious to return to the greens with only five rounds left.

Division 1 plays Lake Boga at the Lake, while Division 2 crosses the bridge to play Murray Downs 2 and Division 3 also head to Lake Boga to take on Boga 3. All the best to our bowlers for the rest of the season.

Friday Frolic was back in action last Friday with a good roll-up. Today will be a bit dicey weather-wise. However, still, come along for happy hour refreshments (good weather for a cool drink).

Enter Mick’s raffles and support your club. An excellent chance to catch up with your teammates after the holiday break.
