THE Regional Novice Singles will be played at Murray Downs on Sunday, starting at 10am. Murray Valley’s Rod Dewhurst will play Joe Reid from the Tyrrell District, while Rodney Bannister (Northern District) tackles Tony Cavallero (Sunraysia).

In the women’s section, only one match will be played, with Laurel Dewhurst (Murray Valley) playing Allison Medson (Northern).

The 60 & Over Ladies Singles draw sees Doreen Weaver (Murray Valley) playing Jenny Blainey (Tyrrell) and Jenny Laursen (Northern) facing Judy Osborne (Sunraysia).

Matches in the 60 & Over Men’s start with Norm Smith (Murray Valley) taking on Mark Keenan (Tyrrell) and Northern District’s Frank Tonn playing Alan Erskine (Sunraysia).

The Murray Mallee Regional Round Robin last Sunday proved to be a most successful day. Northern District won the women’s event, with Murray Valley finishing in second place. Murray Valley’s Kylie Gardner, Mikaela Evans, Alannah Taylor and Helen Frame were the top rink for the day, winning all three of their matches.

In the men’s games, Murray Valley won all three matches, with Northern District finishing in second place. Josh Thornton, Aaron Worboys, Ray Wilson and Mick Holyoak were the top rink for the day.

Murray Valley took out the overall win, when men’s and women’s matches were tallied up.
