Tremendous effort and good luck to all bowlers.

Midweek Pennant’s first and second semi-finals are on Tuesday.

SWAN HILL

SWAN Hill bowlers made a strong finish to the home-and-away season last Saturday.

Division 1 defeated Nyah on all three rinks with a 37-shot win overall.

B. Mansbridge, L. Shadbolt and G. Evans were well supported by their players.

They will be looking to keep the same form when they play Lake Boga 1 at Murray Downs tomorrow in the first semi-final.

Division 2 also won their three rinks against Murray Downs 3 at Murray Downs.

Alex Smith’s rink led the way, followed by Vic Plumridge and Alan Marshman’s rinks.

The win ensured Division 2 stayed in fourth position on the ladder.

They will travel to Lake Boga to again play Murray Downs 3 in the first semi-final.

Division 3 couldn’t match Division 1 and 2, their season ending with a loss to Murray Downs 4 at Murray Downs.

Robin Poole and his family of new players won their rink by seven shots, with Murray Downs winning by 12 shots overall.

Division 3 has had some close games during the season, and our main aim was to encourage several new players that have taken up bowls and to see them improve week by week.

We thank the players from other clubs that have substituted for us the last two weeks, enabling us to field a side.

Midweek Pennant home-and-away matches finished on Tuesday, with neither of our teams making finals.

Nevertheless, there have been some close matches during the season and a few wins along the way.

Division 1 defeated Racecourse One, and both rinks got up with a three-shot win overall, giving them some good finals practice.

Division 2 went down to Murray Downs Three, claiming one rink.

We trust all have enjoyed their games and the experience.

Friday Frolic could be in doubt today with a forecast temperature of 42 degrees.

The raffles will go ahead and Happy Hour cold drinks will be available.

Come along, catch up with your team mates, get ready for finals tomorrow and lend your support.

For those that are not playing in finals, go along to watch your teams and cheer them on.

We wish Swan Hill Bowlers in Division 1 and 2 all the best for good bowling and a successful day.

All Division 3 semi-finals will be hosted by Swan Hill Bowls Club tomorrow.

May all who are playing in finals have an enjoyable day.

This is a last call to anyone wishing to enter our Classic on The Murray being held next Wednesday and Thursday, February 22 and 23.

Entries close this Sunday at noon. Contact Brian Richardson 0499 118 652 or Lynda King – Swan Hill Bowls Club.
