Bowls notes

Murray Downs

SOCIAL bowls, played last Thursday, were won by Dianne Millstead, Connie Rovere and Betty Fox.

Social bowls will change to the afternoon next week. Names should be in by noon for a 12.30pm start.

Barefoot bowls will end on Tuesday evening. There will be a barbecue to begin at 6.30pm, followed by the last game for the season.

It has been a lot of fun for all participants, and hopefully, players will return again next year.

There are still a few club championship matches to be played. Please ensure these are played by Tuesday, April 18, as the presentation night will be on April 19.

Swan Hill

TODAY is a good time to keep your hand in at bowls, now that the pennant competition has ended until the new season begins in October.

Come along for a friendly game and join in Friday Frolic, starting at 3pm.

Enter your names by 2.30pm, arrive early and have a few ends of practice before starting time.

All are welcome – no experience necessary – and it would be great to have some new starters.

Bowls are available on loan at the club.

The jackpot is over $100, so all who play have a chance of being a winner.

Catch up in the club after the game for happy-hour drinks and try your luck in Mick’s raffles.

Easter is approaching fast, and the Swan Hill Bowls Club Easter Carnival is on April 7, 8 and 10.

Good Friday is any combination of three-bowl pairs, Easter Saturday is any combination of two-bowl triples, and Easter Monday will be any combination of three-bowl triples.

Teams and single entries are accepted.

Entries close at 10am with a starting time of 12.30pm each day.

Entries to Bill King on 0428 324 083 or 5032 4083, or Swan Hill Bowls Club 5032 1772.

Alternatively, write names on the notice sheet in the clubhouse, or use the entry form available at the club.

The cost per player is $10 for each event.

Swan Hill Bowls Club’s 57th May Carnival starts on Saturday, May 6. Entry programs are available at the club.

Inquiries to Bill King on 0428 324 083.
