SWAN HILL

FRIDAY’S weather is looking perfect for those wishing to enjoy an hour of pleasant, social bowls at Swan Hill Bowls Club in our Friday Frolic game.

All are welcome, whether you are a member or not. Beginners are encouraged to come along and try out the great game of bowls.

Enter your names by 2.30pm for a 3pm start. Come early for a roll-up prior to playing. The jackpot is on the rise and worth having a crack at. Enter bowls to be in with a chance, only $5 entry fee.

Bowls will be followed by Happy Hour in the clubhouse, a light snack and Mick’s raffles, with good prizes up for grabs.

Swan Hill Bowls Club’s 57th May Carnival is approaching very quickly.

The carnival starts on Saturday, May 6 and goes for 10 days, with a variety of events to suit everyone. Prize money is awarded at the completion of each event.

Call at the club and pick up an entry booklet or contact Bill King on 0428 324 083 or 5032 4083 with your entries and enquiries. Entries are steadily coming in from various corners of Victoria, with one even coming from Western Australia.

Social Bowls is still available on Wednesday, with a starting time of 1pm, with names to be in by 12.45pm. Wednesdays and Fridays are good opportunities to get in some practise for competition games.

LAKE BOGA

WEDNESDAY’S social bowls winners were Danny Kelly, Brian Fowles and Jean Leach, while the runners-up were Greg Clifford, Janet Hamill, Max Parsons and Mary Lynas. On duty next week is Nola Bruton.

There will be no the Jackpot tomorrow as it is our Catalina Two-day Classic. We will resume the Jackpot next week.

Next Saturday, April 29, will be our presentation night, starting at 6pm, with a casserole or pizza dinner. All welcome, please bring along a casserole to share.
