MURRAY DOWNS
OUR annual Turkey Day was held last Thursday with a great turnout, many congratulations to the winning team from Racecourse, Norm and Marg Smith and Glen McIntosh.

The Division 1 and Division 3 weekend pennant teams played Moulamein at Murray Downs last Friday evening on a rather hot night.
Both teams were successful and a barbecue organised by the social committee was much appreciated by all teams.

THIS Saturday, all Swan Hill teams will be playing on their home turf for their final matches to end the year.
Division 1 will battle it out against Lake Boga for the third time this season, with the results so far sitting at a one-all draw, so it will be game on to see who comes out on top.
Swan Hill had a good day at Nyah last week, winning two of the three rinks, G.McGrath, O.Lewis, M.Balchin and W.King defeating B.Smith’s rink by 15 shots, and G.Evans and company gaining two shots on R.Howard, counteracting G.Scandalora’s two-shot loss to K.Coburn.

All are welcome to come along and enjoy an hour of social bowls starting at 3pm, but be sure to enter your names by 2.30pm.

While Lake Boga went to the half-time break with all three rinks up and a total of 19 shots in the lead, Racecourse ended up the winners at the end of play.
Ken Hamill’s rink won by four shots, while Danny Kelly’s rink went down by a small margin of three shots, but Norm Smith’s rink was too strong for Peter Philp, winning by 18 shots.

TOOLEYBUC
WE start our bowls news this week congratulating our lady bowlers Dannielle Adams, Pauline Gardner and Tricia Armstrong, in winning the Murray Valley State Triples which were played at Lake Boga last Sunday.
Some great bowls were played by our ladies, as well as by the opposition teams.
Their first game was against the team from Moulamein, which resulted in a two-shot win, and if this wasn’t a nail-biter, the next game against Murray Downs certainly was, resulting in a one-shot win.
We wish them well when they go on to play in the regionals.
Pennant last Saturday saw the Tooleybuc team record another win for the season, defeating Racecourse 4 at home.
Tooleybuc won two out of the three rinks to win by five shots overall. The best rink on the day was R.Holland’s team, who won by six shots.
For the last game before the Christmas break tomorrow, Tooleybuc will play at home against Murray Downs 4.
On Tuesday, midweek pennant was played at Swan Hill and for the second Tuesday in a row, the weather was forecasted hot.
Bowlers started play earlier to try and finish before it became too hot, with Tooleybuc winning one out of the two rinks on the day, defeating Swan Hill 2 by 13 shots.
P.Gardner’s team was best rink on the day, winning by 22 shots.
Midweek pennant will now break for the Christmas period.
On behalf of all Tooleybuc players we wish everyone a safe and merry Christmas.
