SWAN HILL

ALL bowlers that are keen to take home some extra prizemoney need to turn up for Friday Frolic this afternoon, with the jackpot sure to pass the $200 mark this Friday.

If nobody comes up with the lucky number to claim the cash, there will be a running draw for $100.

All you need to do is enter your name by 2.30pm and be ready to play by 3pm. The weather is looking good for Friday so there are no excuses, with all welcome to join in.

After your 10 ends of bowls, the clubhouse is the place to be, with happy-hour drinks, coffee and tea available, along with hot snacks and raffle prizes to be won.

Friday, July 12, being the second Friday of the month, the committee is planning to try their alternate game, which was washed out in June, with an any-combination two-bowl triples event, consisting of two games of 10 ends, starting 2pm.

Entries must be received by 1pm. Teams or single entries will be accepted, with an entry fee of $10 per player for the casual dress event.

Winners will receive $40 each and runners-up $20 each. The jackpot draw and all the usual Friday night social activities in the clubhouse will still take place.

You can contact Graeme Clark on 0417 409 703 or Bill King on 0428 324 083 to register your entries, or alternatively, ring the Swan Hill Bowls Club on 5032 1772.

Swan Hill bowlers would like to thank Josh Thornton, Bowls Victoria country manager for north-west region, for taking the time to come to meet with them on Tuesday afternoon and provide an outline of the possible changes for the upcoming Saturday pennant season.

The Swan Hill Division 1 bowlers are requested to attend a 5pm meeting this Friday, to give an indication as to their intentions for the coming season.
