The jackpot was well and truly cracked, being evenly distributed between joint winning teams with both having a score of -1.

The lucky players were, Alex Hill, Fred Burge and Russell Fields, along with Jim Thompson, Sally Meehan and Stuart Tompsett.

Friday Frolic will be on this Friday in its regular timeslot and format, with names to be in by 2.30pm for a 3pm start.

All bowlers should be keen to get in some practice, with Saturday pennant commencing this Saturday and Tuesday pennant already underway.

Visitors and anyone wishing to give bowls a try are welcome to join in, so please contact the club on 5032 1772 to enter.

Bowlers and non bowlers are welcome to join in the Friday afternoon activities in the club house afterwards.

Midweek pennant commenced in rather windy conditions on Tuesday, with Swan Hill’s division 1 got off to a good start, arriving back smiling after a narrow victory against Lake Boga, with Judy Husson’s rink winning by seven shots and Vic Plumridge going down by three shots.

Saturday Pennant will get underway in earnest, with division 1 playing away at Racecourse, with Swan Hill gaining some new bowlers recently, which could make the results quite interesting.

Division 2 play Murray Downs 3 at Murray Downs and again, each club has different players, leaving the challenge open.

Best wishes to all bowlers, win or lose, enjoy the game.

Entries for Swan Hill’s A grade men’s and ladies championships close this Friday at 6pm.

Lastly, the Swan Hill Bowls Club will be holding a Melbourne Cup Day event on Tuesday, November 5, commencing at 11.30am.

Please save this date, with more details to come next week.
