SOCIAL bowls was not played last week due to the NSW Golf Open which was played at Murray Downs.
Members rostered on for next week are Di Scown and Mary Johnson.
The State Triples event is being held at the Lake Boga Bowls Club, with the men’s event to be finalised this Sunday, good luck to ‘Buck’ Lehmann and Ray Halligan.
The 60 and Over events are next on the calendar for the Murray Valley Playing Area, beginning with the 60 and Over mixed fours to be played at the Swan Hill Bowls Club on Thursday, November 28.
The singles will be played at Murray Downs on Thursday, December 5 and the pairs at Racecourse on Thursday, December 12, with entry done online via bowlslink.
The lists for club championships are on the noticeboard with members that are playing asked to arrange to play their matches as soon as possible.

THE Racecourse Bowls Club had a great day at the opening of our new synthetic green, with special thanks to Mr Peter Walsh MP, on opening the green.
Roy Jones delivered the first kitty and Bob Mason the first bowl and it was great to see the green full of bowlers.
The winners for the day were Glenn McIntosh, Fay Devereux and Liz Renney, while the runner’s up were Peter Loughran, Noel Hender and Arthur Threadgold.

SWAN HILL
FRIDAY Frolic will be on today for those who wish to brave the mid-30s forecast temperature.
The jackpot sits at $152, which is a handy bonus if a team has the score that’s drawn out, with all who bowl in with a chance to win.
Be sure to enter by 2.30pm and be ready for a 3.00pm start, with a cool clubhouse to be waiting when play is finished, with refreshing happy hour drinks, a snack and prizes to be won.
The Swan Hill bowls teams scooped the pool last Saturday, with both teams having wins.
Division 1 defeated Racecourse 2 by 14 shots, with B.Husson, J.Husson, O.Lewis and R.Dorigo the only winning rink, gaining 18 shots against B.Bice’s rink, which covered the narrow losses on B.Quaife’s and F.Jacka’s rinks.
Tomorrow, Division 1 will make the trip to Moulamein for an earlier starting time of 12pm as arranged, with Moulamein sitting on top of the ladder, ensuring this will be a tough assignment after Moulamein defeated Swan Hill in the first round.
Division 2 won the three rinks against Lake Boga 2, all by narrow margins, to finish the day seven shots up overall.
Swan Hill 2 are away to Racecourse 4 this week and may be challenged on their new synthetic green.
Midweek pennant on Tuesday was not such a successful day, with Division 1 hosting Lake Boga 1 and narrowly losing by three shots overall.
J.Husson, W.King, G.Clark and B.Hill won by five shots, but were unable to cover B.Quaife’s loss of eight.
Division 2 lost both rinks at Tooleybuc and went down by 17 shots overall.
Both teams play at home on Tuesday against Racecourse 1 and Murray Downs 4.
Club games are progressing well to date, so be sure and keep your club championship matches on track.

Pennant has been rolling along quite well and on Saturday, our Division 1 team had a win over Murray Downs.
Division 2/3 went down by four shots to Swan Hill 2, while our Division 4, Team 3 had a good win by 19 shots Nyah District 2 and Team 4 won on forfeit from Murray Downs 5.
Tuesday midweek Division 1 won by three shots over Swan Hill 1 and our Division 2 team won by seven shots over Nyah District.

TOOLEYBUC
PENNANT was played in hot conditions on Saturday and there was no joy for Tooleybuc as we played Racecourse 3 at Racecourse.
With everyone finding the green to be very tricky, Tooleybuc went down across all three rinks, with the best result being A.Smith’s team, who narrowly went down by six shots, however T.Armstrong’s and A.Adams’ teams were well down.
The final result saw Racecourse 3 winning 100 to 47.
Tomorrow will see Tooleybuc playing at home against Murray Downs 3, let’s hope for an improved effort.
On Tuesday, the midweek pennant players hosted Swan Hill 2 and at the lunch time break, Tooleybuc had a slight lead on their opponents, with both rinks having matching scores.
In the end, it was Tooleybuc that extended their lead and finished the day with a win on both rinks.
T.Armstrong’s team won by five shots and P.Gardner’s team comfortably won by 12 shots, with the final score seeing Tooleybuc win 52 to 35.
Next week, Tooleybuc play Murray Downs 3 at Murray Downs.
The weather was far from ideal at Lake Boga on Sunday for the ladies and men’s state pairs, with bowls being played in very windy and dusty conditions.
Congratulations to our ladies T.Armstrong and P.Gardner who were runner’s up with one win, one loss and a draw (+3) and K.Smith, who paired with L.Tompsett (Swan Hill) and finished third, also with a win, loss and a draw (-5).
Well done to the Moulamein ladies K.Evans and J.Dehne, who won the day with two wins.

THE Murray Valley ladies state pairs was played at Lake Boga Bowls Club on Sunday in very windy conditions.
There was no three game winner, but winning the event, with two wins and six points, were last year’s winners Kerryn Evans and Jess Dehne from Moulamein, with the runner’s up, via a count back, with one win and a draw (four points), were Trish Armstrong and Pauline Gardner (Tooleybuc) ahead of Lee Tompsett (Swan Hill) and Kessida Smith (Tooleybuc).
The men will finish their section of the pairs next Sunday at Lake Boga.
The next state event is the Over 60 Mixed Fours, with entries closing on Monday, November 25, with the event to be played on Thursday, November 28 at the Swan Hill Bowls Club.
