Three-way fight for finals

MURRAY Downs knows what’s at stake this weekend as they go on the road to face third-placed Barham in Northern Valley Premier League bowls.

After a tough defeat against Racecourse last weekend, Murray Downs will have to put in a big performance this weekend as their finals hopes are slowly falling out of their favour.

Barham are also coming off from a defeat, from Cohuna Golf last weekend, but they have a slightly more comfortable grip on finals contention, though they need to stay consistent so their finals hopes can become a reality.

It will be all to play for between these two sides, it will come down to who will want the win and finals more.

For fifth-placed Racecourse, they will be playing against a second-placed Kerang who have pretty much sealed their finals spot.

Racecourse will be desperate for a solid performance, as after their win over Murray Downs pulled the gap behind the fourth-placed side to just five points.

In the final matchup in the Northern Valley Premier League, Kerang Golf will play host to Cohuna Golf.

Cohuna Golf’s season has been immaculate, winning all 11 games so far, and they will be hoping to make it 12 straight.

Kerang Golf has had the opposite effect, losing all 11 games, and are now playing for pride and to at least get one win before the season ends.

Last time these two sides faced each other, Cohuna Golf smashed Kerang Golf, wining two of the three rinks and getting 83 shots while Kerang Golf only managed 50 shots.

Cohuna Golf will want to continue their winning ways so they can finish the inaugural Northern Valley Premier League season undefeated.
