Last chance for Racecourse

RACECOURSE’S finals hopes are almost out of reach after their defeat against Cohuna Golf last weekend.

They will be playing Barham this weekend and they will take any chance they can to win their match.

For Barham, after their mega win against Kerang Golf last weekend, they now sit in second place after Kerang had a defeat against Murray Downs last week.

Barham have officially qualified for finals as they sit on 82 points, while Racecourse, who sit in fifth place, have 69 points.

In saying that, Racecourse will want to give everything they have against Barham this weekend and hope that either Kerang or Murray Downs lose their fixtures.

These two sides have faced each other twice, Racecourse winning the first match 10-2, while Barham won the second one 12-0.

Although the head-to-head series is tied 1-1, Barham has won more shots overall with 14-10.

Across the Murray River, the Rams will be hosting Kerang Golf, with the Rams almost guaranteed a win and hopefully get the most points available for a strong finish.

The Rams have defeated Kerang Golf twice, with both matches being won 10 points to two, so overall Murray Downs have triumphed 20-4.

In the Gannawarra Shire, Kerang will host the ladder leaders Cohuna Golf for the last round of the home-and-away season.

Kerang are coming off two shock losses from Racecourse and Murray Downs respectively and, as a result, have fallen from second place.

They will be looking for a strong finish to the season, for if they don’t get any points against Cohuna Golf, they could potentially fall out of finals, providing Racecourse pull off a massive upset and win by 12 points.

For Cohuna Golf, after having an incredible season, they will look to finish off the inaugural Northern Valley Premier League home-and-away season undefeated.
