SWAN HILL

SIXTEEN players enjoyed their game at Friday frolic last Friday with our club always happy to welcome bowlers from other clubs and visitors to town.

The sun shone and took some of the winter chill out of the air, with every winning team receiving a prize and every player having a chance of winning the jackpot, which hasn’t gone off for some time.

Today could be the day?

Friday frolic will be on again at 3pm today and hopefully the coldest part of the week has passed by now and the wind has blown itself out.

Names need to be in by 2.30pm to go into the draw, with the clubhouse warm for you to retire to after the game and take part in Mick’s raffles or enjoy either a hot or cold drink with a warm snack.

For those who don’t wish to play bowls, you can always come along and socialise.

Next Friday, July 4, will be the first week of The Bridge Bowls tournament at the Swan Hill Bowls Club.

The format will be an any combination, two bowl triples event, with both teams and single entries accepted.

Cost is $10 per player and please note the starting time is 2pm, with entries needing to be in by 1pm for the computer draw to be done.

Please contact Bill King on 0428 324 083 or the Swan Hill Bowls Club on 5032 1772 or alternatively put your team or name on the notice board inside the clubhouse.

Anyone wishing to play in the two-day Classic on The Murray event being held on Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10 should put their entry into M. Balchin on 0428 553 913 for this popular tournament.

Also please note that annual subscriptions are now due and can be paid at the bar.
