Holiday celebrations back on at Tooleybuc Sporting Club

TOOLEYBUC Sporting Club is looking forward to seeing their Victorian customers come back over the border for end-of-year celebrations such as the Melbourne Cup Calcutta, the Family Xmas Party and Raffle, and the Christmas bike draw.

General manager Paul Sills said the club had already taken bookings for people who wanted to celebrate the AFL Grand Final on the weekend, and golf players were already back on the greens.

“In the car park, there are already so many Victorian licence plates, and we are really happy to see our customers back,” he said.

“Out here, our venue is still practicing social distancing, and you need to check-in with a QR Code and wear a mask when not eating or drinking.

“But with our dining and function areas, we have rooms which can hold 50 people, 60 people, and 80 people.”

Mr Sills said the months of November and December were typically busy due to the Melbourne Cup and Christmas, but with regular events back on and some big raffle draws on the way, they were hoping to see customers engage with the club sooner.

“The Sunday competition has resumed for golf, and we’re going ahead with the club championship, and with the sponsored golf day in early December,” Mr Sills said.

“Bingo, raffles, and poker will commence from Monday September 27, and we’re giving people the opportunity to win a Yamaha golf cart with a trailer and accessories, with the draw on Saturday October 23.”

In October there will also be the opportunity to win a Harley-Davidson Lowrider, with tickets available from Monday October 25.

Ham raffles will also be back in late November in the lead up to the holidays.

Music events, and bowls (including barefoot bowls) are also set to return.
