Enjoy Dine and Find tasting opportunity

THE Swan Hill Food and Wine Festival is bringing a new tasting opportunity to this year’s event by holding the first Dine and Find on Sunday, March 9.

Running between noon and 5pm, the unique experience will present visitors to 10 local eateries who will throw out their welcome mats to showcase signature dishes and beverages.

With a unique blend of cafes and restaurants taking part, the Dine and Find is a chance to sample some of the region’s diverse dining options at your leisure.

Each venue will have live music and friendly hospitality on offer to complement their culinary offerings.

The venues will serve up entree-sized dishes and creative cocktails, craft beers, a host of Victorian and New South Wales wines and non-alcoholic drinks.

It is free to take part and a map containing the locations will guide you on the journey.

While the area between the venues is a comfortable walking distance, the Swan Hill Bus Lines loop service will offer a hop-on-hop-off service stopping at seven convenient locations.

Live music performances at each venue will provide the perfect soundtrack for a relaxed afternoon.

Swan Hill Incorporated business development manager Stephen Colombo said the event hoped to introduce the community to some of the region’s dining and hospitality experiences.

“Dine and Find is a chance to celebrate Swan Hill’s incredible hospitality scene while making it easy and fun to explore multiple venues in one afternoon,” he said.

“By hosting it over the long weekend, we’re not only creating an exciting experience for the community and visitors, but we’re also driving foot traffic to our hospitality businesses, hopefully increasing sales, and supporting jobs in the industry.

“The format of the Dine and Find promotes an interactive experience for customers and also generates foot traffic around the central business district.

“With live music and tantilsing smells spilling out into the street, it’s a chance for our eateries to attract customers and to showcase their unique blend of offerings.

The event hopes to provide a platform for proprietors to forge new relationships with locals and visitors and offers a new dimension to the annual Food and Wine Festival.

“Events like this play a crucial role in strengthening our rural economy by encouraging dining out and entertainment spending,” Mr Colombo said.

“It’s also giving Swan Hill’s venues a platform to showcase what they do best.”

While the event is free, bookings are preferred to ensure numbers are catered for.
