Around the churches

ON Wednesday, ministers from several Christian churches in the Swan Hill district met together to share their faith, work experiences, the stories of their churches lives and plans.

The ministers enrich not only the lives of their congregations but also their communities, through the seen and unseen work of the churches and their members.

Rev Julie and two local Synod representatives, Leone and Helen, have travelled to Bendigo today to meet with similar representation from all the Anglican churches in the vast Bendigo Diocese.

Synod is like an annual general meeting, with reports of the diversity of outreach work, trust and scholarship funds, aged care facilities, ministry to homeless, hospitalised, Chinese, Dinka and Karen communities.

There will be interesting speakers, time to meet with others and share ideas and concerns, as well as worship together.
