Kangas control the contest

COHUNA’S climb up the Central Murray A Grade ladder has continued, registering a 16-goal win over Tooleybuc-Manangatang.

It was Cohuna’s third-straight victory to start the season following wins over Koondrook-Barham and Woorinen, the 64-48 result setting up a highly anticipated contest against perennial finalists Mallee Eagles this Saturday.

The Kangas led at every change and had the game well in hand after registering a 16-7 opening quarter, with the Saints once again falling foul of a slow start and cruelling their chances of victory before quarter time.

Defender Carly Geary was trailed in attack for Cohuna, giving the home side a completely different look as the Kangas continue to find their best combinations, with Lily Guerrin in wing defence and Skye Perry in the centre among Cohuna’s better players.

FINAL WHISTLE

COHUNA 64
