Tigers roar back into the mix

WOORINEN returned to the winners’ list with an arduous five-goal win over Kerang at Riverside Park on Saturday.

The 39-34 victory brings the Tigers back into top-five contention, sitting outside by percentage only, while simultaneously leaving the Blues’ season precariously placed after securing just a draw from their first four games.

While disappointed not to get the win, Kerang coach Chloe Adams was still pleased with her team’s improvement.

“It was a super competitive contest and we were a lot happier with the game we put out this week,” Adams said.

“We’re disappointed not to come away with the win, but we were a lot more cohesive across the court, which was our goal, but we just struggled to convert at times.”

The Tigers welcomed Olivia Free into the side for her A Grade debut, with Willow Conlan and Tessa Demaria among Woorinen’s better players, while Bree Cordina and Carla Walker were named as the best for the Blues.
