A CONSISTENT four-quarter performance by Balranald comfortably accounted for Koondrook-Barham.

The Raiders again brought in a new player for the occasion, with Lockington-Bamawn’s Jess Davidson taking on the role of goal attack for the day, but it was to no avail as the Roos powered away to record a 73-39 victory.

Balranald’s height in defence and attack proved the difference, according to Roos co-coach Jess Parry, who also praised a young Raiders outfit continuing to show signs of steady improvement each week, despite the scoreboard.

“Ella Mirtschin was very accurate under the post for us and Elli Pollard has been playing very well this year, swinging from both defence to goals, and her versatility is a huge asset to our playing group,” Parry said.

“Brie Galvin played really well in wing attack and Grace Morton did a really good job on Tlarnee Lake as well.

“It was a good win and they (Koondrook-Barham) have definitely improved, they’ve got a lot of kids still in the mix, but their attacking end is quite strong and they were very accurate and our girls played very well to get the win that we did.

“The score wasn’t really a true reflection on how competitive the game was.”

Goal attack Tlarnee Lake, wing attack Davidson and centre Remy Doyle were the better players for Koondrook-Barham.

FINAL WHISTLE
