Nyah West course vandalised

Graham Muir, the Honorary secretary of the Nyah West Golf club and members were absolutely appalled by the behavior of vandals last week.

The vandalization of the course took place overnight last Friday, when two cars smashed down a boundary fence and created mayhem on the course by driving over tees, doing donuts on fairways and severely damaging the sand on the 2nd hole. ” The extent of the vandalism was hard to comprehend,” Mr Muir said.

” Such acts of irresponsible damage to a sporting facility which is there for the whole community for their recreational purposes, not just our members is abhorrent. This really ‘fly’s in the face’ of club volunteers who put in an enormous amount of their time and energy into maintaining the facility, to say nothing of the additional cost to the club to repair the damage in their second consecutive year of limited income due to COVID lockdowns,” He said.

So much for the COVID lockdown stay at home regulations!
