SWAN Hill Rural City Council will be extending free parking in the Swan Hill CBD until Sunday October 10.
Mayor Bill Moar said while payment is currently not required for meters, parking signage must still be followed.
“This includes time limits on parking, as well as loading and disabled parking bays,” Cr Moar said.
“Parking turnover is important to ensure customers can still access the services that they need.”
Cr Moar said council hoped free parking may assist locals to support our local businesses.
“We hope our free parking makes it a little easier to pop into the Swan Hill CBD, purchase goods and help our local economy to recover,” Cr Moar said.
Council may issue fines to people that are not following parking signage.
