Council says ‘g’day’ to new Aussies

A RECORD number of Swan Hill Rural City Council district residents became Australian citizens on Monday September 27, with three separate ceremonies held at the Swan Hill Town Hall and the Robinvale Resource Centre.

There were 56 new citizens in total, and due COVID restrictions, the citizens were unable to have any guests or family in attendance.

Mayor Bill Moar said this was unfortunate, as the day is considered a special milestone for many people.

Cr Moar officiated the ceremonies, with the first two held at Swan Hill that morning, and the third at Robinvale that afternoon.
