Sign to reunite Rohullah with his family

THE Guardian has lodged an e-petition to the Federal Government House of Representatives requesting for the House to take action on the plight of Rohullah Hussaini’s wife and child who are in extreme danger in Afghanistan, and need Australia’s urgent protection.

The petition reads:

“To the Honourable Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives, this petition from concerned Australians draws the attention of the House to the case of Swan Hill-Afghan Hazara landscape gardener and SES volunteer Rohullah Hussaini and the desperate situation of his Hazara family who are in extreme danger in Afghanistan, and who are in need of Australia’s urgent protection.

“Rohullah Hussaini is desperately trying to get his wife and 18-month old daughter (both unnamed for safety reasons) to Australia.

“They have both applied for refugee status in Australia to escape to safety.

“These applications have been submitted to immigration and DFAT with hard copies currently on their way to Amman in Jordan.

“Rohullah’s wife and daughter and his wife’s siblings were very nearly killed during the two suicide bombing attacks on Kabul airport on August 26.

“On that day The Taliban were searching houses and she told her husband on the phone that she needed to go to the airport to try to escape.

“The first bomb went off close to where his wife’s brother was searching for airport gate access for the family’s taxi, while the second bomb went off where the family’s taxi had been only moments earlier.

“Kabul is a dangerous place for an effectively-single Hazara woman and child, with a husband living in the West.”

The petition is number EN3265 and can be found via this link: https://www.aph.gov.au/e-petitions/petition/EN3265

Please show your support for this family to be united safely in Australia.
