MARKET DAY

The build up was big and the local Market Day shopping extravaganza staged in Swan Hill on Saturday didn’t disappoint.

There had been a lot anticipation about the traditional shopping event on the weekend given that it was going to be a clear opportunity for locals to do some serious shopping after the last two years of lockdowns and uncertainty.

After the market stalls and business premises closed on Saturday afternoon traders reported that they had enjoyed great sales and it had been a fantastic day. Kaylee Whitfield, the Marketing Co-Ordinator for Swan Hill Inc told The Guardian that all traders were extremely happy with the 2021 event.

We surveyed most traders through the day on Saturday and they had only positive results to report.

“The day coincided seamlessly with Black Friday a special sale day the previous day and the day was staged a little closer to Christmas which played in everyone’s favor,” Whitfield said.
