Lifeline ride returns

THE annual Sunraysia Lifeline Ride will go ahead next month with participants set to ride from Mildura to Robinvale.

The March 20 ride aims to raise funds for the Sunraysia Lifeline Project (SLP) to promote support and awareness of mental health in Sunraysia.

The ride from Mildura to Robinvale via Hattah will take about 90 minutes.

Chair Stephen Hegedus said proceeds from this year’s ride would help people in Mildura, Wentworth Shire and the Robinvale and Euston areas.

“This year’s event communities of Robinvale and Euston will see that they have a dedicated team here that will be their conduit to Lifeline Central Victoria and Mallee for delivery projects that they feel the community needs,” he said.

“It will also reinforce with the (Wentworth and Mildura residents that we are still here, and the committee is growing and that we have local representation on the Lifeline Central Victoria & Mallee board.”

SLP began in 2012 as a committee to organise the Black Dog Ride for Sunraysia. In 2017, the Sunraysia Lifeline Project was created to bring focus to the communitiy’s needs.

Funds will be raised through registration fees, raffle tickets, lunches and T-shirt sales.

SLP will continue to invest in projects to improve wellbeing in the community.

At 9am on the day of the ride, riders will meet at Bunnings, where they can grab a coffee, buy a T-shirt and hear from local Lifeline advocates.

Donations can be made through the SLP Facebook page. All riders must register at www.eventbrite.com.au/e/lifeline-ride-sunraysia-project-tickets-261351227557.
