Balranald youngins invited to participate in Youth Week

YOUNGINS in the Balranald area will have the chance for some fun activities and competitions, with Youth Week this year running from April 4 to 14.

Balranald Youth Shire Council will be putting together events including barefoot bowls at both the Euston and Balranald Bowls Clubs on April 14 from 1pm to 4pm. There will be an instructional start to the event, followed by a competition and prize for the winner.

The Youth Council is also running a bus trip to Mildura on April 12, where participants will be visiting the cinemas, bowling club and laser tag.

Alongside both of these events, a photography competition is also being organised by the Youth Council. Competitors have the chance of seeing their photos used for marketing purposes for the region.

Balranald Youth Shire Council Mayor Jackson Bialobrzeski believes Youth Week is a great celebration of and for youth throughout the shire.

“Youth week is an opportunity for kids between the ages of 10 and 25 to come together and to celebrate what achievements they have, what the future will be like, and to really make direction and that decision,” Mr Bialobrzeski said.

“It’s like a gathering that they can have with each other and to raise their concerns and their voice, and really discuss the problems that face them and move forward into that future direction.”

If you are interested in Youth Week in the Balranald Shire, more information about the events will be released later in the week. You can also call the Balranald Shire Council to find out more.
