May-hem of events at the library

By Camille Cullinan

AUTHOR talks, the Biggest Morning Tea, Knitter Knatter Craft stall, National Simultaneous Storytime, celebration of IDAHOBIT Day and Law Week activities including Coffee with a Cop are just a few of the events happening at the library during May.

Author Jan Davidson will be at Swan Hill Library on Monday, May 9 and Robinvale Library on Wednesday, May 11 to talk about her latest book, Tethered, which is the sequel to Hunted. Jan will also talk about the fun and not so fun side of writing and getting published.

Paddle steamer and history fans come along to hear author Tony Hughes talk about his great-grandfather Abe Dusting who captained the PS Jane Eliza and still holds two river records that are unlikely to be broken. Tony captures the story of his great-grandfather in the book A Remarkable Voyage.

Author of The Whitworth Mysteries, Ruth Morgan will be talking at Swan Hill and Robinvale Libraries.

The Whitworth Mysteries is a collection of short crime fiction stories set in and around a fictional city situated in outback NSW.

All authors will be selling and signing books at their talks.

During Law Week there will be an opportunity to meet with a general solicitor to get a “legal health check-up” with a solicitor from Mallee Family Care’s legal department or you can come along to have an informal chat and cuppa with a local cop.

The library will be raising awareness of gender inclusiveness at a morning tea on International Day Against Homophoboia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). Find out how you can support friends, family and colleagues.

Recent changes to COVID restrictions now enables vaccinated and unvaccinated community members to enter the library whether and you no longer need to check in.

For the health and wellbeing of others, the library requests that if you are feeling unwell, please stay home.

For more information, dates and times of library events at all our branches check the Swan Hill Library website and Facebook page.
