Library set to get loud

SWAN Hill Regional Library will come alive with music, singing and dancing.

Local musical talent will be back in the library from 7pm on Friday, September 9 with young local dancers, musicians and singers performing in Loud@theLibrary.

This event has been the starting point for the career of several young local musicians during the 12 years it has been running. Come along to see musical performers from across our region.

All singers, musicians and dancers between the ages of 12 to 25 are welcome to perform. Everyone is welcome to be part of the audience. Free entry.

Rural Women Online Open Day was on at Swan Hill Library on August 12. This was a great opportunity to learn how to use technology and a range of online services.

Swan Hill Library provides ongoing support and assistance for anyone needing help to learn how to use technology or access the internet.

We have computers with internet access for public use, free Wi-Fi and a one-on-one tech support program for people needing help to use the internet, set up an e-mail account or use your own technology such as a smart phone or tablet. Contact the library to find out more about our tech support program or make an appointment to get help.

The old mobile library vehicle has been retired and replaced with a brand new, smaller truck.

Keep an eye out for the brightly coloured small truck that is now operating as the library outreach vehicle. The truck will be popping up in communities around the municipality. We would love to show off our new library truck, so if you have a community event or service and would like a visit from our new library, contact Swan Hill Library on 5036 2480.

It may still be August, but the September school holidays will be here before we know it so keep an eye out for the amazing September school holiday program that the library is busy preparing around the theme of dinosaurs.

You can find out more about what’s happening at your local library branches and library outreach service by following Swan Hill Library Service on Facebook and now Instagram. Yes, Swan Hill Library now has an Instagram account: @swanhillregionallibrary.
