8am: Lake Boga Foreshore parkrun is a free, fun and friendly weekly 5km course. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. It’s free, but register before your first run. More info at www.parkrun.com.au/lakebogaforeshore

8.30am-12.30pm: Murrabit Country Market features about 80 stalls that sell fresh fruit and vegetables, hand crafts, plants, tools, clothes, shoes and hardware. Dogs are not allowed at the market (guide dogs excepted).

SUNDAY

8.30am-12.30pm: Swan Hill Farmers Market features fresh produce, local entertainment, food and refreshments. Come along and support your local farmers at Riverside Park.

1pm-3pm: The Victorian State Ballet presents The Snow Queen in a full-length, majestic ballet production. The Snow Queen is full of magical imagery, intrigue, drama and suspense. At the Swan Hill Town Hall. Tickets cost $57 per adult, $55 for concession/senior/pensioner, $32 for 16 years and under. Purchase online at swanhilltownhall.com, or in-person at Swan Hill Town Hall booking office (Monday-Friday, 9am to 2.30pm) or Swan Hill Region Information Centre Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm ).

JUNE 7

4pm: Free My Golf at Nyah West. My Golf is Australia’s introductory golf program for five to 12 year olds. The program introduces kids to golf in a safe and friendly environment. Participants learn new skills, make new friends and have fun. Register at www.golf.org.au/mygolf

1pm-4pm: Swan Hill Crafty Critters at Swan Hill Club. Drawing, painting, card making, knitting, crochet, scrapbooking, digital art, creative writing and so much more. 11.30am: Bingo at Tooleybuc Sporting Club.

Until June 12: Tuesday-Friday (10am-5pm), Saturday and Sunday (10am-4pm). The 9×5 Art Exhibition is Fight Cancer Foundation Swan Hill branch’s art fundraiser. Through the auction of this new collection of original works, the foundation will continue to raise funds, ensuring that the important projects of the Fight Cancer Foundation continue. It brings together a fascinating series of works that re-imagine a medieval feminist utopia, probe the unsolved murder of a high-profile anti-gentrification campaigner and explore the connections between love, loss and language in migrant communities in Australia. The videos tell stories, but they also challenge the conventions of storytelling. Begg’s work invites you to see the world differently by drawing on ancient literary traditions, non-linear timeframes and computer-generated randomisation.
