Scenic Paragon Cafe up for lease

A prime Swan Hill hospitality venue is coming up for lease at the end of July, and the hunt is on for new management.

The Paragon Café nestled in the Pioneer Settlement and owned by the Swan Hill Shire Council is looking for expressions of interest from potential new operators.

The café is housed in the original Dumosa Towaninnie Hall, which was re-located to the Pioneer Settlement.

In 2015, the building was redeveloped to create The Paragon Café. It is named after ‘The Paragon’, a famous establishment from Swan Hill’s history.

Pioneer Settlement general manager Jessica Warburton said that thanks to the charming main street landscape, combined with the tranquility of the Little Murray River and towering gums, the Paragon Cafe presents a wonderful business opportunity.

“Located within the Pioneer Settlement, not only is this a popular tourism destination, but it is also situated on one of Swan Hill’s most beautiful walking tracks, central to the Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery and Big 4 Riverside Caravan Park,” she said. “The heavy foot traffic presents more opportunities to capitalise on.

“The Paragon eagerly awaits innovation to unlock new opportunities and potential. The commercial kitchen and dining space is equipped and ready to walk into.

“Continue with the traditional menu that complements the Pioneer Settlement or give it your own modern twist.

“The scope allows for vast opportunities beyond your traditional dining, with existing clientele for you to capitalise on, think: functions, school groups and coach groups.

“New plans for the Pioneer Settlement combined entry and Information Centre only means more future growth, and we are committed to offer the support and guidance for the Paragon Café to grow with us.

“We will be offering the opportunity for onsite information sessions for interested parties.

“Given the tourism industry the Café operates within, there is a requirement for it to be trading a minimum of seven days a week, 10am-2pm and we are eager to further discuss these terms and the opportunities with prospective operators.”
