Lake has bragging rights

LIKE most good things, the Lake Boga Park and Brag started with a conversation between two mates.

Kathy Wilde and Carly Bausch both love cars and thought it would be great for an informal gathering of other car enthusiasts where they could bring out their pride and joy and have a chat and a coffee on a Sunday morning.

Enthusiasts of all things driven by a motor now gather in the main street of Lake Boga at 11am on the third Sunday of each month.

Ms Wilde, who moved to the region only 12 months ago, has three cars and said she came from Gippsland, where there were a lot of car clubs but also casual get-togethers and coffee catch-ups.

“We are not a club, we are not fundraising and we don’t have any other vested interest other than we just let people know it’s going to happen and we will admire each other’s vehicles.

“I said to Carly, for the first one, if we get five cars I will be stoked.

“We had 15 cars and about 20 bikes show up.

“Every month we have new and different cars turn up.

“We are getting a good variety and each month we are getting new people coming out.

“It’s just like-minded people coming out and catching up and meeting new people.

“Everyone’s cars have all these stories behind them it is really amazing,” Ms Wilde said.
