TODAY

2pm-3pm: DIY foosball table with Bunnings. For ages five and older. Free entry. Join Bella from Bunnings Swan Hill for a fun DIY children’s activity. Make your own foosball table to take home for hours of fun with the family. Bookings required. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

8pm: Live music at Swan Hill Club featuring That Guy.

9pm: Live music at Commercial Hotel Swan Hill featuring The Known Official.


TOMORROW

8am: Lake Boga Foreshore parkrun is a free, fun and friendly weekly 5km course. It’s the best way to kick off the weekend. Walk, jog, run, volunteer. It’s free, just register before your first run. More information at www.parkrun.com.au/lakebogaforeshore.

8.30am-12.30pm: Murrabit Country Market features 80 stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables, hand crafts, plants, tools, clothes, shoes and hardware. Dogs are not allowed at the market, guide dogs excepted.

6pm: Christmas in July at Boundary Bend. Roast dinner by Mick Pitt followed by dessert, drinks (tea and coffee provided). Live music by Bruce Myers. Tickets adults (12-plus) $50, Child (5-11) $25 and under five is free. Tickets available at the Boundary Bend Post Office.


SUNDAY

8.30am-12.30pm: Swan Hill Farmers Market features loads of fresh produce, local entertainment, food and refreshments. Come along and support your local farmers at Riverside Park.

10am-3pm: NAIDOC Week basketball youth versus justice. Drills and competition followed by police v police game. Children under the 10 will need to be supervised by a parent or caregiver at all times.

3pm: Bingo at Swan Hill RSL Club.


MONDAY

10.30am-11.30am: Author talk at Swan Hill Regional Library with Robert Lozenzon and Spike the Surfer Dog. Join Robert and his rescue, Spike, for a talk about how Spike came to find his forever home and learned how to surf. Suitable for all ages. Bookings required.

1pm-5pm: Minecraft at Swan Hill Regional Library. For ages five and older. Free entry. Play alone or bring a friend. Haven’t played before? Don’t worry, volunteer Alex will be on hand to help. This is a pop-in-session, so come and go as you please. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

1pm-5pm: VR pop-up play at Swan Hill Regional Library. For ages 12 and older. Free entry. Have some out-of-this-world fun with PlayStation virtual reality headset. Join an outlaw band of immortal pirates and fight your way to glory across the galaxy or jump into the combat ring to fight giant robots. Bookings required. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

7.30pm: Swan Hill Rock ‘n’ Roll Club at Murray Downs Golf and Country Club.


TUESDAY

9.30am for 10am: Social bowls at Nyah. Names in by 9.30am for 10am start. $10 per person, includes lunch.

10am-11am: School holiday program at Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery. Draw a pap from a bird’s eye perspective using traditional and meaningful symbols while learning the Wamba words along the way. Cost $5. Bookings essential.

10.30am-noon: Keyrings For NAIDOC Week at Swan Hill Regional Library. For ages 10 and older. Free event. Children will mould and sculpt oven-baked polymer clay to make their own keyring then use beautiful beads, coloured string and Indigenous symbol stamps to decorate them. Bookings required.


WEDNESDAY

1pm-4pm: Swan Hill Crafty Critters drawing, painting, card making, knitting, crochet, scrapbooking, digital art, creative writing and so much more. A fun and safe place to show off your best work, practice or even start something new. More details, email sh.craftycritters@hotmail.com.

2pm-4pm: Lego at the Swan Hill Regional Library. For ages three and older. Free event. Come along and enjoy the fun with special Lego sessions. Complete one of the many challenges or enjoy free-play using your imagination to make a fantastic creation. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

7pm-8pm: Twilight Tales at Swan Hill Regional Library. For all ages. Free event. Come along to special evening storytime with Max. Pop on your pyjamas, grab a teddy and join us for some magical fun. We will enjoy magical stories and action rhymes, followed by a fun wand-making craft activity. The session will then finish with pizza. Bookings required.


THURSDAY

10am-11am: School holiday program at Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery. Stencil and spray paint your very own wall hanging. Create special knots with quandong seeds to add to the decoration. Cost $5. Bookings essential.

11am: NAIDOC Week Elders lunch at Racecourse Bowls Club. Event is for Elders only. Contact Laurel Baxter, 0474 731 352.

11.30am: Bingo at Tooleybuc Sporting Club.

6.30pm for 7.30pm: Let Indigenous pop stars The Merindas wow you with their infectious energy and soaring vocals at a Bruthen Music Cafe. General admission tickets $15. Contact: thbookings@swanhill.vic.gov.au. Performing at Robinvale Community Art Centre.

6pm-8pm: Barefoot bowls at Tooleybuc Sporting Club. Names in by 5.45pm on the night or message Danielle on 0403 548 149. Open to all ages and abilities. Finger food provided. Wear flat shoes, thongs or bare feet. No experience necessary.


ALL WEEKEND

Saturday, 9am-5pm, Sunday, 8am: Swan Hill Kart Club Sun Centre titles. Saturday practice 9am to 5pm. Sunday qualifying from 8am. Three heats and a final.

Saturday, noon-4pm, Sunday, 10am-3pm: Mid Murray Orchid Club hosting the Victorian Country Orchid Clubs Challenge at Kerang Basketball Stadium. Displays from 11 orchid clubs from around Victoria, four commercial sellers selling to the public. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea available. Open to the public. Entry $5.


ALL MONTH

June 26-July 7, 10am-5.30pm: Swan Hill Regional Library school holiday program. Creation station set up in the children’s area for the duration of the school holidays. Children can draw, cut and paste, colour in, complete activity booklets and make all sorts of creations from a range of recycled items. Suitable for all ages. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult. Also during school holidays is Magic Search and Find, suitable for ages 5 and older. Collect a form at the front desk, find all the magical posters throughout the library, fill in the letter found on the bottom of each poster numbered 1-13. What words do they spell? Collect a prize when you have completed the form and go into the draw for a chance to win a $50 Swan Hill gift card. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

June 17-July 30, Tuesday-Friday (10am5pm), Saturday and Sunday (10am-4pm): Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery exhibition Milloo Dreaming (This Time In A Wetland). Following a year of extraordinary rainfall and flooding, ­replenishing the floodplains of our region, First Nations artists from the Swan Hill region respond with traditional weaving, drawings, paintings, sculptures, ceramics, historical artefacts and photography. Milloo Dreaming allows us to reflect on the deep connection between our First Nations people and the extensive network of rivers, creeks, billabongs, lakes and floodplains. They will be complemented by works from young First Nations artists in the studio gallery.

June 24-July 9, 9.30am-4pm: Pioneer Settlement school holiday activation.
