Market for a good cause

MARK your calendars for this Sunday, October 6, as the Swan Hill Market brings a delightful mix of local talent, unique products and exciting activities to Riverside Park.

Starting at 9am, the market promises to be a great day out for the whole family, with something for everyone to enjoy.

Kibworth Park Alpacas, brought to you by Maxine and Kevin Sleep, is just one of the highlights this month.

Located just north of Lake Boga, Kibworth Park is renowned for breeding fine, high-quality Grey Huacaya Alpacas.

The couple began their journey in the alpaca industry back in 2004 with five foundation females and have since built a multi-award-winning herd.

Kibworth Park is proud to offer 100 per cent Australian-grown alpaca products, from fleece to yarn and finished goods, all crafted with care in their shearing and work facilities.

Alongside their beautiful alpaca products, they will be bringing some of their alpacas for visitors to meet.

It’s a rare opportunity to see these gentle animals up close and learn about the source of the luxurious fleece.

Adding to the creative flair of the market, Ashley Van den Akker will be demonstrating her skills on the pottery wheel.

Be sure to stop by, watch her work and chat about how you can get hands-on with clay in her upcoming classes.

Swan Hill band Free Ride will perform in the rotunda, setting the perfect scene for market-goers.

With a wide range of food and drink options, including Bean Hopper and Coffee and Cookies vans at either end of the market to prevent coffee queues and the Lions Club barbecue, Elaine’s Kitchen serving delicious dumplings, Mallee Hot Bites and sweet treats from Carol Webb’s donuts, there’s plenty to keep your tastebuds happy.

Beyond the vibrant stalls and delicious food, the market also serves an important purpose: it supports the We Believe in Unicorns fundraiser.

Established to assist families with sick children needing to travel for medical treatment, this charity provides much-needed help with medical bills, travel costs and everyday essentials.

All stallholder fees and donations go directly into the fund, making every market day an opportunity to give back to the community.
