Grandparents Day at St Mary’s

STUDENTS from St Mary’s Primary School spent last Friday with their grandparents for Grandparents and Friends Day.

Grandparents, friends and guardians of the students attended class and had a shared lunch before heading to the gym to watch the students’ dance performances.

Heavy rain the night before necessitated a venue change from the muddy outdoor grounds to the gym.

St Mary’s Primary School Principal Kate Quin praised staff and students for their efforts.

“The Grandparents Day drew a huge crowd,” she said.

“It was wonderful to see so many families sharing their children’s learning in classrooms, and we always enjoy chatting with the many grandparents and special friends who come along.

“Each year the standard of the students performances seems to surpass the previous and this year was no exception.

“The performances by each year level were just brilliant and I thank them for the way they committed to learning the dances whilst having lots of fun.

“You would never have picked everyone had to quickly practice on Friday morning to perform facing the opposite way due to the venue change.”
