Gear up for fishing competition

THE countdown is on for one of the region’s most anticipated angling events.

The Balranald Murrumbidgee Classic Fishing Competition 2025 is set to take place from March 28 to 30.

Fisherman and enthusiasts from across the Shire are expected to converge on Balranald with the promise of thousands of dollars in prizes, thrilling raffles, and exclusive giveaways including two boats up for grabs.

This year’s competition offers great value with tickets priced at $160 for adults and $110 for juniors, covering not just the entry but also a range of meals.

Competitors will enjoy Saturday and Sunday breakfasts, Sunday lunch and finally a Sunday night dinner generously provided by the Balranald Football and Netball Club.

Beyond the fishing, the event will foster a strong community spirit, offering plenty of activities and opportunities for attendees to enjoy.
