Events to help with grant apps

COMMUNITY organisations, charities, and not-for-profits across the region will be given an opportunity to participate in a seminar as The Grants Guy returns for a session of informative and interactive workshops.

In collaboration with the Balranald Shire Council, Swan Hill Rural City Council, Gannawarra Shire Council, and Murray River Council, this initiative aims to equip local groups and organisations with the knowledge and ability to secure grant funding and strengthen community capacity.

Taking place from March 24 to March 27, The Grants Guy Roadshow will offer a series of free workshops across multiple locations, covering critical topics such as grant writing and community capacity building.

The workshops aim to support organisations looking to secure funding, develop strategic community initiatives, and sustain long-term growth as well as providing insights into securing funding and growing sustainable community programs.

Attendees will learn practical skills, network with like-minded organisations, and gain access to vital resources to help bring their projects to life.

With limited spaces available, early registrations are encouraged.

On March 24, the roadshow will be making a stop in the Balranald Shire, hosting two free workshops tailored for community groups, charities and not-for-profits.

Grant Writing Workshop – Euston

March 24, 10.30 am to 1.30 pm

The Euston Club Resort

Refreshments provided.

The session is ideal for NGOs, schools, sports clubs, and community groups looking to secure funding.

Attendees will learn about available grants, practical writing tips, application templates, and how to create a strong grant strategy for their organisation.

The workshop will cover what grants are available and how to apply, budgeting for grants, writing effective project plans and business cases, avoiding common mistakes in grant applications, developing a grants calendar and establishing community capacity for long term success.

Community Capacity Building Workshop – Balranald

March 24, 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm

The Theatre Royal, Balranald

Refreshments provided.

This session will focus on strengthening organisations by building partnerships, enhancing volunteer management, and identifying growth opportunities.

Topics covered will include volunteer recruitment and management, engaging with the community and building partnerships, effective communication and leadership strategies, government relations and advocacy and funding opportunities and financial planning.
