Vintage rally gears up in Woorinen

THE Mallee Steam Oil and Machinery Club is preparing for its Annual Vintage Rally and Tractor Pull.

The event will take place at the Woorinen South Township Recreation Reserve on Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6.

It will feature a wide range of vintage machinery, including engines, trucks, tractors, memorabilia, and more.

Machinery club president Andy Talbot said the excitement will begin with a procession through Swan Hill at 10.30am on Saturday.

“The rally kicks off with a drive through Swan Hill Main Street,” Mr Talbot said.

“There will be tractors, cars and motorbikes before heading back to Woorinen South for a the display, and this year a steam engine.”

Mr Talbot said the tractor pull on Saturday evening is the event’s highlight.

“There’s something for everyone, but the tractor pull tends to draw the biggest crowd,” he said.

In the tractor pull, participants use their tractors to pull a weighted trailer, competing to see who can pull it the furthest.

Prizes will be awarded to the winners.

“The added weights cause the trailer to sink into the ground,” Mr Talbot said.

“The tractor that pulls the trailer the furthest is the winner.”

With something for everyone, attendees can explore the exhibits and immerse themselves in the rich history of Mallee agriculture and machinery.

The action continues on Sunday from 9am to 3pm.

“Fans can expect more action and a chance to see more tractor pulls,” Mr Talbot said.

Catering will be available for lunch both days.

Saturday night dinner bookings are required and those interested in attending can contact the machinery club directly.

Whether you’re an antique machinery enthusiast or simply looking for a fun, family-friendly day out, this event has something for everyone.

Admission to the Vintage Rally and Tractor Pull is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
