Nyah too strong for St Mary’s

NYAH resumed batting in a strong position at 3/139, already ahead on the first innings.

Ritchie Boulton and Kent Wooding continued their team’s punishment of St Mary’s as the two took the score to 218 with a devastating partnership of 93 before Matt Heffer found the edge of Wooding’s bat to dismiss him just short of a half century for 47.

Michael Boulton (16) along with brother Ritchie(73) added 47 with Ritchie bringing up his half century before Nyah declared on 4/265.

St Mary’s Tyntynder performed much better with the bat as they tried to avoid an outright defeat. Corey Daniels and Matt Edwards provided much needed early resistance as neither gave their wicket away cheaply or early.

Daniels was dismissed by Michael Boulton for 32 and Edwards was trapped LBW by Justin Toomey for 20.

Matt Heffer was easily removed shortly after for nothing once again by Toomey.

Brent Daniels and Billy McInnes continued their good form as the two added 22 and 32 respectively before fellow youngster Rhys Burge found a false shot in Daniels and Jason Morrison struck McInnes on the pads to dismiss him LBW.

Jarrod Halligan also made a very handy contribution as he used up overs and kept the scoreboard ticking over making an impressive unbeaten 50.

St Mary’s were 6/187 when the captains agreed to call the game with Nyah winning on first innings.

Tooleybuc Manangatang def Swan Hill

TOOLEYBUC Manangatang was in a solid position at 1/35 at the start of play chasing 161.

Simon Craig got the batting side off to a good start as he combined with Adrian Gordon to deny Swan Hill an early breakthrough.

Leigh Kentish and Josh Domaille combined to consolidate and advance the score as youngster Domaille played his shots, sweetly timing the ball to make his first A grade half century only to be dismissed by Kane Giffiths on 51.

Braden Hender and Kentish passed the total to claim first innings points and batted on as Kentish made 75 before he holed out to Patrick Noonan off the bowling of Jordan Griffiths.

Hender also fell to Griffiths having his poles dismantled by the fast bowler.

Stuart Dixon then rubbed salt in the wounds as the lower middle order batsmen added 31 runs unbeaten as he combined with Sam Grant (17) and Brandon Norfolk (1) with Tooleybuc Manangatang finished 8/273, claiming first innings points.
