Swan Hill Dart Association notes

THE Swan Hill Dart Association’s Wednesday winter competition kicked off this week, the opening round turning into a ton bonanza with 61 thrown across the three venues.

A new team to the competition, playing out of the Swan Hill Club, is Let’s Get Pegged, who hosted last season’s winners, the RSL Have A Goes.

In the Have A Goes’ usual style, they didn’t show any mercy to the newcomers, only dropping one of their singles games to take out the win 8-1, with Rhiannon Glare playing well in her singles with a night-best peg for the ladies of 3/68.

The RSL Gunners played host to last season’s runners-up the SHC Blazers, the visitors dropping just one of their singles matches to cruise to an 8-1 win.

The most hotly contested game of the night was at the Tooleybuc Hotel, where the Tooleybuc Tigers took on the Ultima Bullchuckers.

Both teams threw some fantastic darts and the result could have easily gone either way.

Chris Conlan from the Bullchuckers threw the season’s first 180 and the night’s shortest game of 22, while Bruce Wilson for the Tigers threw a fantastic 3/100 peg.

In the end it was the Tigers who were triumphant with a 6-3 win.
