Double bill in Swan Hill darts

THIS week Swan Hill Dart Association took a break from regular-season competition, playing a knockout doubles’ competition to mix things up.

It was nice to have so many players in the one venue for a change, as players are normally in three different venues on a Wednesday night.

The format was a 601 game of darts with two players per side, the loser bowing out and the winner continuing.

Due to the random nature of the draw, a few teams who were expected to go deep into the competition met in the first round, which opened the competition up early with some unexpected results coming.

The competition came down to the team of Bruce Wilson and Jacob Williams, who play for the Tooley Tigers in the regular season, and Chris Conlan and Deryck Allen, both of whom play for Ultima Bullchuckers.

Conlan and Allen got away to an early lead, thanks to a Conlan 140, but a couple of throws from Williams in the 90s late in the game gave his team a chance.

Conlan and Allen came out victorious.

Congratulations to both players and the runners-up, and a big thank you to all players who took part in what will hopefully become a regular fixture within our normal darts season.
