THE Swan Hill Dart Association took another break from the regular season this week, with 18 players taking part in a knockout singles competition at the Swan Hill Club on Wednesday night.
With extra boards set up, the format was a 501, best-of-three-legs knockout tournament, with the winners progressing and the losers bowing out.
With the random drawing of names, there were some interesting match-ups early, but in the end, it came down to Kyle Adamson and Col Toohey as the final two.
Col was scoring well, but couldn’t find the double finish when required, going down to Kyle 2-0.
Some great darts were thrown by many players, but notably 13-year-old Sophie Williams, who threw her first 180 in competition on her way to defeat Johnson Field in the first round.
Sophie’s father Marc threw the shortest leg for the night, in 18 darts, while Bruce Wilson threw a magnificent 3/119 peg.
Thanks to the Swan Hill Club for hosting the event, the people who organized it and most importantly, those who turned out to compete.
