SuniTAFE Skills and Jobs Centre pops up in Robinvale

ROBINVALE students are getting weekly insights into potential career pathways, with regular visits from SuniTAFE’s Skills and Jobs Centre.

From the beginning of Term 2, a dedicated area within the Robinvale College Careers Hub has been transformed, with course and careers information.

The pilot program aims to increase school engagement.

SuniTAFE staff provide support for students undertaking SuniTAFE-delivered VET courses on site.

“Being able to establish this service within the Robinvale College allows us to provide students with the opportunity to access high quality, free, impartial careers and training advice to achieve the best outcomes for the next stage in their life,” Centre Manager Karen Chynoweth said.

“Meeting students within their own familiar environment, often puts them at ease and makes them feel more comfortable to have these conversations.”

Workshops will be run by SaJC staff including resume writing, interview tips and class information sessions.

Ms Chynoweth says the Skills and Jobs Centre initiative will be rolled out to other schools in the future.
