Wycheproof and Robinvale kinders get connected

CHILDREN at the Wycheproof Early Learning Centre will become more digitally savvy thanks to funding for new equipment.

Wycheproof Early Learning Centre has been awarded more than $940 to buy a cellular iPad and accessories and an all-weather Bluetooth speaker through the $89,000 Building Blocks funding grants.

Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp announced the funding on October 5.

Through the inclusion and improvement streams, Robinvale Preschool Centre will receive almost $1000 to prepare for the roll-out of its funded 15 hours a week of three-year-old kindergarten in 2022.

Staff have undergone a comprehensive review of the existing facilities, program and equipment in order to determine capacity to provide a high-quality curriculum for children.

The service will receive a further $1500 to buy two cellular iPads and accessories and an all-weather Bluetooth speaker.

Birchip Early Learning Centre will receive $1500 for two cellular iPads and accessories and an all-weather Bluetooth speaker.

The funding assists kindergartens across the state to be inclusive for children of all abilities by upgrading early childhood education centres and buying specialist equipment to help support learning outcomes.

The latest round of Building Blocks Inclusion Grants is worth almost $2.4 million ─ supporting 242 kindergartens to upgrade their facilities or buy equipment for children of all needs and abilities.

Upgrades include infrastructure in playgrounds to make kinder activities more accessible as well as moveable inclusive education equipment like mobility stools and sensory equipment to support learning programs.
