Six records fall at Swan Hill athletics carnival

KERANG Technical High School hosted the Swan Hill Division athletics carnival on Wednesday.

Along with KTHS, St Mary Mackillop College (MAK), Swan Hill College (SHC) and Cohuna Secondary School competed.

The students who finished first in each event will now progress to the Loddon-Mallee regional finals, which will be held in Bendigo on October 6.

Winners at the regional finals will progress to the state championships.

Six records were broken on the day.

Swan Hill Division Athletics new records:

Male 15-year-old high jump – Ryan Bassett, KTHS, 1.75m

Male 13-year-old old javelin – Judson Wells, SHC, 28.5m

Female 13-year-old high jump – Makenna McKenzie, MAK, 1.4m

Male 16-year-old 100m – Otto Conlan, MAK, 11.46 sec

Female 13-year-old 1500m – Carly Shepheard, MAK, 6.11.28

Female 13-year-old 4x100m – Mackillop, MAK, 57.87sec
